About the Company

We are partnering with a highly stable, privately held organization experiencing massive national expansion.

About the Role

If you are an elite HR executive who thrives on turning rapid, multi-site growth into a sophisticated operation, this is the career-defining "build" you have been waiting for. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, highly operational VP of HR to step into a newly created seat, join the executive leadership team as a true strategic partner, and architect their nationwide HR function from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Architect HR Infrastructure: Build a comprehensive, modern nationwide HR function from the ground up, moving past temporary fixes to establish scalable long-term corporate infrastructure.
  • Scale Multi-Site Operations: Take full operational ownership of a rapidly growing, decentralized multi-state hourly workforce scaling beyond 1,000 employees.
  • Execute Corporate Programs: Partner with consultants to finalize, execute, and launch a comprehensive nationwide corporate benefits program and standardized compensation structure.
  • Centralize Multi-State Compliance: Oversee and standardize regional compliance tracking, localized leave policies, and statutory PTO structures across a multi-state footprint.
  • Drive Technology Modernization: Evaluate current basic tracking tools to lead the selection, transition, and implementation of a robust, advanced nationwide HRIS.
  • Lead & Mentor Regional Teams: Manage, unify, and mentor a decentralized, multi-site team of HR professionals across multiple regional facility hubs.
  • Partner with Field Leadership: Travel heavily during the initial phase to regional facilities to deeply learn operational nuances, partner with local General Managers, and align HR initiatives with site compliance and safety.

Qualifications

  • An Hourly Workforce Expert: Extensive experience directly managing a decentralized, hourly field/site workforce of at least 500–1,000+ employees in heavy-turnover or industrial sectors.
  • A True Builder: A proven track record of creating policies, structures, and scalable HR infrastructure from scratch.
  • Operational & Hands-On: A collaborative leader who values a direct, transparent corporate culture and is energized by traveling to regional facilities to align HR initiatives with local operations.
  • Union Exposure: Prior exposure to unionized environments or handling non-union preservation strategies is a plus.

Travel & Location

This position offers remote flexibility, with a preference for candidates who can easily travel out of major transit hubs.

  • Initial Phase: Requires heavy travel to regional facility locations to deeply learn the operational nuances of the business from the ground up.
  • Ongoing: Travel will taper down to a standard 25% (roughly one week a month) for ongoing regional support and management partnerships.

Pay range and compensation package

  • Target Base Salary: $200,000 to $250,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • The Impact: The autonomy to build an HR division exactly the way it should be built, leaving your distinct fingerprint on a rapidly growing national organization.
