POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client is seeking experienced Stock and Equity Accounting Specialists to manage its equity compensation programs across the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate is a payroll professional who has developed strong equity accounting knowledge — someone who understands how equity events flow through payroll, taxes, and the general ledger. These individuals will be responsible for equity plan administration, tax cash clearing, GL accounting, and ensuring all equity-related payroll and tax obligations are properly recorded and reconciled.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support equity plans and stock processing management for U.S. and Canada
• Handle tax cash clearing, GL entries, and reconciliations tied to equity activity
• Support employee stock purchase plans and related accounting processes
• Partner closely with payroll and tax teams on equity-driven transactions
• Frequent correspondence with internal Compensation teams and outside vendors regarding employee vesting
• Must be familiar with estimated tax payments and reconciliations
• Monitor interfaces and off-cycles to ensure timely processing of equity transactions
• SmartCompliance and large enterprise equity accounting experience preferred
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 4+ years of experience in payroll with substantial equity accounting or equity plan administration exposure
• Payroll professionals who have transitioned into equity accounting roles are strongly preferred
• Knowledge of RSU income inclusion, option exercise taxation, ESPP tax treatment, and GL impact of equity events
• Familiarity with cross-border equity tax treatment (U.S. and Canada) highly preferred
• Experience with estimated tax payments and equity-related reconciliations
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience with ADP GlobalView in a large enterprise payroll environment
ADP GlobalView, SmartCompliance, S/4HANA, Blackline (preferred)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• SAP S/4HANA and Blackline experience preferred
• CEP (Certified Equity Professional) or CPP designation is a plus
