SENIOR MANAGER, COMMERCIAL STRATEGY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT


POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy & Business Development to support the growth and elevation of Thélios across the Americas. This role will be responsible for strengthening distribution strategy, identifying and developing business opportunities, and ensuring the Maison standards are consistently executed across key channels and markets.


The position will partner closely with Sales, Brand Management, Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain, and regional leadership to evaluate distribution performance, identify white space opportunities, support strategic account development, and ensure the in-store brand experience reflects the standards of our Maisons.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY & COMMERCIAL PERFORMANCE

  • Lead evaluation of Americas distribution network, aligning with Maison standards, selective distribution, and commercial objectives.
  • Analyze the active door universe (brand, channel, region, account) including openings, closures, segmentation, and performance.
  • Monitor door-level performance across sell-in, sell-out, assortment, replenishment, and new collection implementation.
  • Identify distribution gaps, underdeveloped territories, and underperforming doors; recommend action plans to boost productivity and brand positioning.
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership on channel, regional, and district-level business planning (budget, forecast, re-forecast).
  • Develop strategic recommendations for door prioritization, account segmentation, assortment, and investment focus.
  • Provide leadership with business analysis, insights, and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of luxury eyewear players, retail environments, pricing, assortment, visibility, and distribution.
  • Serve as the Americas market expert, providing HQ and Brand Management with feedback on market realities, opportunities, and regional needs.


BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGIC GROWTH

  • Develop account and channel-specific growth strategies balancing commercial opportunity with Maison positioning and selective distribution.
  • Identify and evaluate new business development opportunities across all N. American channels.
  • Partner with Sales and leadership to assess new target doors, expansion opportunities, and commercial partnerships.
  • Build business cases for strategic opportunities, covering market potential, brand fit, operational feasibility, investment, and ROI.
  • Support new commercial initiatives for brand elevation, client engagement, assortment productivity, and long-term account growth.
  • Collaborate internally to improve fill rate, best-seller penetration, replenishment, and overall door productivity.
  • Support strategic buying meetings, trade shows, and key account presentations with commercial insights and business development recommendations.
  • Track and report on business development initiatives, ensuring follow-through, accountability, and measurable impact.


VISUAL MERCHANDISING & IN-STORE EXECUTION

  • Ensure Visual Merchandising execution across accounts meets Maison standards and optimizes in-store brand presentation.
  • Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing to secure ideal in-store brand placement.
  • Monitor quality and consistency of in-store execution: fixtures, displays, assortment, and seasonal updates.
  • Prioritize permanent fixture and visibility opportunities based on door performance, brand relevance, account potential, and ROI.
  • Provide feedback to HQ and local leadership on VM challenges, market needs, and opportunities to enhance in-store impact.


BRAND, PRODUCT & MARKET FEEDBACK

  • Collaborate with Paris-based Brand Management on Americas market needs: product assortment, styling, color, pricing, and competitive positioning.
  • Support commercial briefings for regional business needs, ensuring clear and actionable local insights.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Sales on new collection launch quantities, style ranking, inventory investment, and replenishment for core best-selling SKUs.
  • Analyze product performance by brand, account, channel, and region to identify commercial opportunities and assortment gaps.
  • Ensure regional feedback is supported by market data, account input, competitive analysis, and commercial performance.


PROFILE

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or relevant field

5+ years’ experience in Brand Management or Merchandising/Buying within fashion, luxury, or consumer goods field preferred

  • Ability to quickly identify areas of opportunity, research creative solutions and implement new processes to address
  • Strong communication, influence, and presentation skills
  • Ability to solve various types of problems that may involve multiple departments within the Company
  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • High organizational skills and ability to handle complex projects and multi-task.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The hiring range for this position ranges from $120,000 - $140,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience. In addition to the base salary, there are opportunities to earn additional performance-based incentives, offering significant additional earning potential.
