POSITION TITLE: Retail Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Retail Specialist is responsible for in-store support of a designated geographic territory for Chiquita products at specified customers. In this role, you will support product display, store marketing efforts, space-to-sales, best practice integration, etc. and manage in-store resources/ results. This individual identifies/develops necessary training needs for customer in-store staff and is interactive with divisional and store produce management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Execution

  • Direction and inspection of store retail execution
  • Works with sales and supply chain team to determine monthly retail priorities
  • Communicates priorities to customer - Conducts store audits to monitor and improve retail conditions
  • Manages scorecard performance utilizing data from multiple sources and conducts performance updates internally and externally
  • Develops process for maximizing Chiquita resources and customer resources to support store specific initiatives


Analytical

  • Development and utilization of exception based analytics to measure customer performance, drive sales and improve in-stock conditions
  • Assist Chiquita Retail Customer Manager with assigned analytical tasks
  • Monthly Ad tracking, promotional analytic support
  • Identify and work with Chiquita and customer management team on stores that have compliance issues; create success metrics


Account Penetration

  • Develop relationships at multiple levels within the customer produce group as part of the 360-degree penetration strategy


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent applicable experience require
  • 2 years’ consumer products retail related experience
  • Flexible work schedule and 70% travel
  • In-store field support experience is preferred
  • Strong relationship building and customer service skills a must
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in taking initiative and making appropriate decisions. Planning and organizing skills essential.
  • Strong detail orientation and communication skills essential
  • Proficiency with computer systems and applications (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint essential).
  • Proven ability to take direction from multiple sources
  • Ability to deliver great customer experiences in any environment and to be invigorated by constant personal interaction


PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
