About the Company

Unique Brands is a fast-growing fashion company with a reputation for trend-forward products and a distinct brand identity. We're looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to own both HR operations and full-cycle recruiting across our fashion and apparel organization. This is a hybrid role built for a hands-on HR professional with deep recruiting expertise — someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the nuances of the apparel industry. The right candidate brings a strong command of HR best practices and employment compliance, paired with a proven track record of sourcing and hiring top talent across corporate, retail, and creative functions. You'll be a trusted partner to both leadership and employees, playing a key role in building high-performing teams that reflect our brand vision and drive business results.

About the Role

The Human Resources Manager & Recruiter will oversee core HR functions — including onboarding, employee relations, performance support, and compliance — while leading end-to-end recruitment for a broad range of positions. You'll work closely with leadership to strengthen workplace culture, champion employee development, and ensure our hiring strategies stay aligned with business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition & Full-Cycle Recruiting
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for corporate, retail, and creative roles spanning Design, Technical Design, Merchandising, Production, Buying, E-Commerce, Marketing, Retail Operations, and other headquarters functions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, key competencies, and hiring timelines.
  • Write and maintain job descriptions that reflect current business needs and ensure internal consistency.
  • Drive candidate sourcing through LinkedIn, industry networks, job boards, fashion-focused programs (FIT, Parsons), and recruiting tools.
  • Build proactive pipelines for high-volume seasonal hiring, including interns, freelancers, product development roles, and retail leadership positions.
  • Conduct screenings, coordinate interviews, manage feedback loops, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience from start to finish.
  • Support offer development, compensation discussions, and negotiations in partnership with leadership.

  • Human Resources Management
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees, guiding policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage onboarding, new hire orientation, and employee documentation to ensure a seamless and compliant transition from candidate to team member.
  • Support performance management processes — including manager coaching, corrective action guidance, and employee development initiatives.
  • Handle employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen company culture, boost employee engagement, and develop retention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and uphold sound documentation practices.

Qualifications

  • Required
  • 5+ years of combined HR and recruiting experience, preferably within apparel, fashion, retail, or consumer goods.
  • Solid understanding of apparel industry roles and workflows, including design, merchandising, production, and retail operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, HR compliance, onboarding, and performance support.
  • Proven ability to source and recruit niche talent across creative and operational functions.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms, HRIS systems, and recruiting tools.

  • Preferred
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
  • Experience with contemporary or luxury apparel brands.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Fashion Management, or a related field.
