Financial Analyst

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Lead statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting for fixed income, including bonds and mortgage loans.

• Ensure regulatory compliance with standards, filing requirements, and state insurance regulations, maintaining documentation for investment holdings.

• Execute internal controls over financial reporting to support risk mitigation efforts.

• Mentor team members, providing guidance on financial reporting practices and process improvements.

• Lead process improvements by identifying inefficiencies, implementing solutions, and documenting enhanced workflows.

• Participate in projects and system implementations for proper planning, execution, and alignment with organizational objectives.

What You'll Need

• Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience in statutory accounting, preferably within the insurance industry.

• Demonstrated expertise in fixed income securities, accounting, and investment reporting.

• Hands-on experience with NAIC Accounting Practices and Procedures manual and investment accounting.

• CPA is preferred.
