This role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys precision, structure, and keeping financial operations running smoothly in a fully remote environment. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining compliant financial records, and supporting core accounting activities such as reconciliations and month-end close. The position requires strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. You will collaborate closely with finance and people operations teams to ensure seamless coordination between payroll, benefits, and reporting processes. Beyond day-to-day execution, you will contribute to financial accuracy, audit readiness, and operational improvements that support organizational growth. Accountabilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll with a high level of accuracy, ensuring correct handling of wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and time tracking data.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life insurance, ensuring accurate deductions and timely employee support.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare journal entries, and generate financial reports to support leadership decision-making and financial visibility.
  • Ensure payroll tax compliance and maintain audit-ready records in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Support employee data updates and payroll-related inquiries in partnership with people and culture teams.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
  • Support cash management processes and contribute to ad hoc financial analysis, audits, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or payroll, with hands-on exposure to payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel), including functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Experience with payroll or financial systems (Paycom or similar platforms preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of accuracy and accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote, technology-driven work environment.
